I feel in love with baking. Period.
I never knew I could since I'm not really a girl- I mean not a girly girl.
What got me hooked?
Julie and Julia. Yep. That movie. I fell in love with food, and then with baking. I was bored and googled some easy recipes and tried baking some out-of-cake-box stuff, with a twist.
And they loved it....
I'm just gonna start this blog based on what I baked two weeks ago... The one that gets me to write this blog.
I just moved from Sydney to Jakarta, Indonesia five months ago. And I miss Sydney a lot.
One night the missing was just too loud.
I googled "Three Ingredients Nutella" because, well, I can cope with three ingredients.
I started mixing the eggs and the flour and nuttella.... and by five minutes, I was in heaven.
Baking give you certainty. baking in some kind of magic. You just add a bunch of random stuff that doesn't taste horrible separately. And the oven dings. Then you take it out of the oven and it looks like this.
Three Ingredients Nutella Brownie |
Ok. Pardon the quality. I will be getting an SLR camera soon.
Anyway.
I just realize at that point that baking keeps me sane. It keeps me happy.
Just like Julie Powell said:
“You know what I love about cooking? I love that after a day when nothing is sure and when I say nothing, I mean nothing. You can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. That’s such a comfort.”
Hmmm.
Such a comfort.
So you'll know what I'll do when I miss Sydney. Or having a rough day. Or simply being a crazy insomniac.
I will be in my kitchen.
Bon appetite.
Go audrey... You are more than crazy insomniac, your baked is super duper crazy delicious!!! craving for another cookies or what so ever comes from your kitchen hahaha! Love u sis'
